Wow! What a week we’ve had at Sama + Kiki HQ.
We have launched our brand, spanking new website and the feedback has been phenomenal, as well as the hits, we’ve had pre-orders even (blows my mind you guys want to buy my stuff), I did my first FB video, our Face book page is edging closer to 300 likes, I’m working out what markets I’ll be doing until the end of the year, my winter samples have gone to our factory to get started, as well as making space for when my shipment arrives.
I have been absolutely overwhelmed and humbled by the messages of support I have received from people near and dear to me and complete randoms, it’s so awesome, but it also makes me feel the pressure as I don’t want to drop the ball.
Yesterday I had a complete meltdown, which is very unlike me. I have so much to do and if I’m really honest am not the most patient person and I just want everything done now, and perfect.
When you start a new business, it is a such a scary and exciting time, and I am so blessed with the AMAZING people who have come into my world and are bringing my vision to life, as well as a VERY supportive husband. I am by no means a risk taker, and many sleepless nights have made me realise sometimes you have to take a risk and see what happens then hope like hell it pays off! I love seeing my vision come to life, Sama and Kiki becoming a brand with an identity, and my clothes out there for the world to see, I just hope the world loves them as much as I do…
Sometimes it’s really hard to remain positive, when you’re everything to everyone, mum, wife, CEO, and as my husband reminded me yesterday 95% of Sama and Kiki can’t lose the plot, which nearly had me in tears of share frustration – sometimes his humour is lost on me! So after a sleepless night, I thought to myself today is going to be a good day. I’m a tick the box type girl so I wrote a HUGE list, and added a couple that I’d already done so I could tick them off, it makes me feel like I’ve achieved something (don’t judge me, if you’re a box ticker you’ve totally done this) took a deep breath, went to my personal trainer, even though I couldn’t concentrate because I had so much to do, but at least I got my exercise for the day out of the way, and I got to tick a box (ha), and I have a new mantra – celebrate the wins, however big or small they are.
So ladies, join me in celebrating the wins, and taking a bit of time out to recharge. Even if this means watching an episode of Home & Away in peace (ha! totally did that), and reading lots of inspiration quotes on instagram.
Remember dress yourselves as well as you dress your babes ladies.
